Walailak University Hospital recently organized a neonatal resuscitation conference aimed at enhancing the skills and competencies of healthcare professionals, particularly nurses working in neonatal intensive care. The event was led by a team of pediatricians, including Asst.Prof.Chaiwat Rerkswattavorn, M.D., Supreeya Padungsak, M.D., and Premruethai Sae-ng, M.D.
The conference focused on improving neonatal resuscitation techniques through hands-on workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions. Participants engaged in practical training and discussions on critical issues related to neonatal care, ensuring they are well-equipped to handle emergency situations in newborns.
With the increasing incidence of complex neonatal complications—such as cyanosis (bluish skin discoloration), dyspnea (shortness of breath), shock, neurological disorders, seizures, and metabolic conditions—continuous professional development is essential. The conference emphasized the importance of regular skill enhancement to ensure accurate and safe neonatal care, aligning with the growing demand for expertise in high-risk newborn management.
Walailak University Hospital remains committed to advancing neonatal healthcare standards and supporting medical professionals in delivering the highest quality of care to newborns.
