Last week, Dr. Wachirapong Chana, an orthopedist from Walailak University Hospital, participated in the ASEAN Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery and Technique (MISST) Conference at Chakri Naruebodindra Medical Institute, where he served as a speaker, moderator, and demonstrator in various sessions on spinal surgery advancements.
Dr. Wachirapong delivered a presentation titled “En Bloc Flavectomy in Uniportal Endoscopic: How to Do It Safe?“, discussing techniques for safely enlarging the nerve root cavity by removing tissue as a large piece through endoscopic surgery. His insights focused on improving surgical precision and patient safety in minimally invasive spinal procedures.
In addition to his keynote, Dr. Wachirapong moderated a session on advanced endoscopic spine surgery, sharing the stage with leading orthopedic surgeons from across Asia. Throughout the four-day conference, he also led live demonstrations on endoscopic spine surgery techniques using cadaver, providing hands-on training for attendees.
Beyond his speaking engagements, Dr. Wachirapong actively participated in discussions with international experts, exchanging knowledge on innovative surgical techniques, including endoscopic spinal fusion through small incisions. The ASEAN MISST Conference serves as a key platform for advancing minimally invasive spinal surgery, aiming to enhance patient access to modern and high-quality treatments.
