Today (June 18, 2026), the Nursing Division of Walailak University Hospital organized a workshop on Palliative Care Guidelines. This workshop was convened to integrate palliative care principles into patient management, with a primary focus on alleviating physical, psychological, social, and spiritual suffering. Furthermore, it aims to enhance the quality of life for both patients and their families, extending from the initial stages of a disease through to the end of life.
Dr. Kitti Rattanasombat stated that palliative care extends beyond standard medical treatment protocols; it is a philosophy rooted in humanized patient care. As healthcare professionals, it is imperative to recognize that during the final stages of life, patients and their families require more than mere medical interventions. They necessitate profound understanding, empathy, and the reassurance that they will not be left to endure their suffering alone.
To this end, Walailak University Hospital consistently prioritizes the continuous capacity building of its personnel in this critical area. Consequently, this workshop serves as a significant opportunity for participants to learn from distinguished experts, enabling them to effectively apply the acquired knowledge to enhance patient care in the future.
