Dr. Kitti Rattanasombat, Acting Director of WUH, emphasized the importance of washing hands with soap or alcohol-based gel, stating that it is a simple yet effective method and a crucial measure for preventing the spread of infectious diseases and germs. He also recommended the 7-step proper handwashing technique, which includes: 1. Palm to palm, 2. Palm over back of the other hand with interlaced fingers, 3. Palm to palm with interlaced fingers, 4. Backs of fingers to opposing palms with fingers interlocked, 5. Rotational rubbing of thumb clasped in the opposing palm, 6. Rotational rubbing, backwards and forwards with clasped fingers of one hand in the opposing palm, and 7. Rotational rubbing around wrists.
This event was organized to raise awareness and encourage the public to recognize the importance of proper handwashing, which is fundamental to good hygiene and helps reduce the spread of germs. Additionally, staff members participated in a campaign walk inside the hospital and distributed alcohol-based hand sanitizer gel to service recipients to motivate everyone to adopt the correct handwashing methods in their daily lives.
