Walailak University Hospital proudly announces the launch of its 3D (Three-Dimensional Visualization System) Eye and Retina Surgery, becoming the first hospital in Southern Thailand to introduce this modern technology.
This innovative system provides enhanced image sharpness and resolution, allowing ophthalmologists to visualize the internal structures of the eye with exceptional clarity and precision. The first surgery using this technology was successfully performed by Asst. Prof. Jakkrit Juhong, MD, an ophthalmologist specializing in Retina and Vitreous Surgery.
Advantages of the 3D Visualization System:
- Provide clear, detailed visualization to support greater surgical accuracy—especially in complex eye conditions
- Reduce light intensity used during surgery, minimizing the risk of retinal damage
- Improve safety and surgical outcomes
- Enhance surgeon comfort and reduce fatigue during long procedures
- Support medical education by improving the visibility of surgical details for physicians and medical students
The introduction of this advanced technology reflects Walailak University Hospital’s commitment to continuously developing medical services and raising the standard of care to meet international benchmarks—ensuring that patients in Southern Thailand receive the best and most comprehensive ophthalmic care available.
