Today (August 26, 2026), Walailak University Medical Center (WUMC) officially launched its latest healthcare innovation, “Rapid Approval for Faster Medication: Enhancing the Drug Approval Process with WUH FAST,” at the WU Innovation Day 2026. The project was presented by Dr. Panuwat Kongserinon, a Cardiothoracic Surgeon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The WUH FAST system was developed to streamline the medication approval process. Previously reliant on a multi-step, paper-based system that was time-consuming, prone to redundancies, and difficult to track, the new platform transitions operations to a fully digital workflow. This transformation significantly reduces procedural steps and waiting times, accelerates drug approvals, and allows for systematic status tracking and data verification. Ultimately, it minimizes delays in document processing, particularly for patients requiring specialized or restricted medications, enabling them to receive their prescriptions and commence treatment much more promptly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, the system enhances the accuracy of patient eligibility verification and prescription ordering, effectively reducing the risk of human error. It also ensures that patients’ medical histories and personal information are systematically and securely stored in strict compliance with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
